He died on 30 Jan 1926 in Altoona, Blair County, Pennyslvania. He
was buried on 2 Feb 1926 in Grandview Cemetery. He was ill with Arterial
Sclerosis and Senile Dementia.. Richard served in the Civil War,
Company B, Independent Calvary Batallion.
According to Shell Wilkinson:
Mary Ann is the second wife. There was supposed to be a divorce, which has not
been proven. He was 53 when Mary Emily was born. When Mary Lindsey (wife) died
the girls went to a home for Civil War Orphans in Chester, PA.
First wife was Martha Thompson. Records claim he deserted her on or about Nov
1880.
He was a Private in B Co, Dale's Cav, Reg. PA mustered out on 1 Dec 1863 source
"History of Pennsylvania Volunteers 1861-1865" published 1870.
